The Music Department consists of three separate levels of learning. In elementary band students learn how to count music, name notes and play recorders and either cornets or clarinets. In middle school band the students get to choose an instrument, students who played the cornet can pick trumpet, trombone, baritone or tuba and students who played clarinet can pick clarinet, flute, oboe, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone or baritone saxophone. In high school band the students expand on their playing abilities by playing more advanced music and marching at football games and parades.

Forest Park is one of the few schools in the area that owns the instruments the students play on. In other schools students either have to buy their own instruments or rent them.

The Band Boosters is very important to the band. They hold two fundraisers a year, a chocolate sale and a fruit sale. They help the band buy uniforms and cover costs to travel to football playoff games and to Appleton for the Performing Arts Trip. The Band Boosters also supplies lunch money for students who attend Honors Band or Solo Ensemble.

Band Boosters Mission Statement: To enhance and support the students' activities in the Forest Park Music Programs.
