Welcome to the Forest Park Girls Basketball website! 2010-2011 Season "Teamwork makes the dream work." Congratulations ladies on an outstanding season!
This years group of girls have the closest bonds with one another. Everyone gets along, and they all have each others back. They help each other keep their spirits up if someone is down, and celebrate when a teammate succeeds. 1,000 Point Club This season, one of the team's captain and senior, Alicia Tollefson, reached her 1,000 points. The game was played in North Central on January 21, 2011. After she scored her 1,000 points, the referees stopped the game and the announcer said that Alicia had gotten her 1,000 points. He went on and said her total amount of points she had each year of her high school basketball career. Everyone in the gym got on their feet and clapped, even the North Central fans. Along with Alicia in the 1,000 Point Club from Forest Park are Jolene Anderson, Kim Hautala, and Julie Hautala. MHSAA records Jackie Stoor (Giuliani), the girls current JV coach, holds one of the MHSAA records for the most assists. She is currently third for 217 assists in her 1995 season (183 in her 1997 season), and is fifth in assists for having 601 assists in her career. Christina Bruce holds another of the MHSAA records for 153 (of 560) Three-Point Field Goals Made in her 1993-96 career. Holding a state record is quite an accomplishment because these records are for all classes in the state of Michigan. Team Sleepover In the beginning of the season, the girls got together one weekend for a team sleepover, Varsity and JVs. No house could fit 21 teenage girls and their coach so it was held at school in the gym. Earlier in the night, all of the girls were comfortably spread out across the gym. The team played games, ate snacks, and sang karaoke. When everyone was tired, the girls all got together and Jackie told true scary stories about the old high school and the city of Crystal Falls. After that, the girls were clumped in a big group and one girl commented saying "wouldn't it be scary if the lights in the hallway turned on". (The lights are motion censored.) Well, not even an ten minutes went by and the lights went on in the hallway. All the girls were scared. Jackie told them it was because the lights turn on when the heat turns on. In the morning she admitted that she too was scared. That was one experience that the girls will never forget. Girls Basketball 2010-2011 Schedule
